______________________________________________________________________

Resouces for work zones include articles, reports, products and websites. The proper use of temporary traffic control in work zones is an issue of major importance in the work of the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Centers. Many products have been developed by the LTAP Centers or the partners in National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) in order to increase the awareness of motorists, roadway users and workers to the use of proper temporary traffic control. Links have been provided by the partners in NWZAW for broader dissemination of this material. When using any resource listed here, please send an e-mail message to the Alabama T2 Center. An attribute to this website as the source would be appreciated.

Work Zone Website Links

For general information and the history of National Work Zone Awareness Week, the website of American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) has a NWZAW webpage. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) website has several pages with links on temporary traffic control in work zones. Some of the Intelligent Transportation Systems also have websites with pages of information about work zones. The link to the Work Zone Mobility and Safety Fact Sheets is a set of brochures issued between 2000 and 2003. This series of ten brochures shows activities for improving mobility and safety through construction and maintenance work zones. These brochures highlight innovative technologies and best practices. They also introduce new methods, products, and tools of the Intelligent Transportation System.
